Cedar & Sweetgrass Twined Basket

Basketry is a functional art form that dates back to ancient times. Join us while we explore weaving techniques of the Northwest coastal first peoples. Using cedar, and dyed and natural coastal sweetgrass, we will create a beautiful twined basket. A variety of twining techniques will be taught, creating intricate patterns and accents in your weaving. Your finished basket will measure about 6x6 inches. A false-braided rim will create a sturdy and beautiful finish to your new creation. Material harvest and preparation will also be addressed in class.
