Emergency Shelter Building for the Wilderness Traveler
What would you do to survive if unexpectedly stranded in the wilderness? Join us and learn to construct effective and creative shelters with natural materials. Students will also practice improvised shelter building with items that are often carried in day packs. Instruction will be given on shelter placement and positioning, safe construction, and useful natural materials. Signaling rescuers will also be covered in this informative, hands-on program. Frank Sherwood will share some humorous accounts of his extensive shelter building experiences, highlighting what to do, as well as what not to do.
