Survival Trek

Equipped with only a blanket, knife, and a few other essentials, we will trek into pristine wilderness to put our survival skills, learned in previous classes, to the test. In preparation for our trek, we will spend a few days at base camp drying jerky, making pemmican, and gathering additional provisions. Following base camp preparations, we will journey together into the wilderness to build our shelters, test our fire-making abilities, and practice primitive cooking techniques, while learning other valuable skills. Hunting and primitive fishing techniques will also be explored. Students will be guided through wild edible plant identification and have the opportunity to forage for local wild edibles. This course is open to anyone having previous course experience in wilderness survival.
